1. Purpose
We operate the mobile application Daia (the "App"), as well as any other related products and services that refer or link to these legal terms (the "Legal Terms") (collectively, the "Services").
As used in this Privacy Notice, personal information means information that identifies, relates to, describes, is reasonably capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, with you. Personal information does not include information that is publicly available, de-identified, or aggregated.
Daia, inc. provides a secondary display of your blood sugar levels from your continuous glucose monitor with enhanced sharing and notification capabilities.
This Privacy Notice applies to all services of Daia including our mobile application, our website (www.daia.health) and all related websites, and all relevant servers, APIs, and components.
2. What Personal Information is Collected and Why
In general, we will use the personal information we collect about you only with your consent or as permitted or required by applicable privacy laws and for the purposes described in this Privacy Notice or for purposes that we explain to you at the time we collect your personal information. Your consent may be expressed or implied, depending on the circumstances and the sensitivity of the personal information we seek to collect, use, or disclose. We may also use your personal information for other purposes that are not incompatible with the purposes we have disclosed to you (such as conducting our business operations, scientific or historical research purposes, data security purposes, data anonymization purposes, or statistical purposes) if and where this is permitted by applicable data protection laws.
Personal data collected can include, but is not limited to, name, phone number, third-party login information, emergency contact’s name and number, and voluntarily imputed medical information. Beyond blood sugar data, the only data being collected is voluntarily entered by the user. The only data required to enter for full functionality of the app is a first name, third-party login information, and a phone number.
3. Health Data
Blood glucose data is required to use the app properly, as the purpose of the app is to display blood glucose data and send requested alerts based on this data.
4. Geolocation Information
Daia utilizes precise geolocation data, including GPS signals, device sensors, Wi-Fi access points, and cell tower IDs. We collect this type of data if you grant us access to your location. We may also derive your approximate location from your IP address. At any time you can turn-off the location sharing feature in the app, and you can turn off location permissions from your device’s settings page.
5. Analytics
We collect anonymous usage statistics through Aptabase. No blood glucose or other personal data is captured via analytics. We capture general usage information including but not limited to how often the app is opened, which features are used, and which settings people are using. You can read Aptabase’s privacy policy here. Anonymised opt-in data may also be collected and provided by Apple, as part of the app being hosted on their store.
6. Updates
We may update this privacy notice from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by an updated “Revised” date and the updated version will be effective as soon as it is accessible. We encourage you to review this privacy notice frequently to be informed of how we are protecting your information
